General Horatio Gates- America's First Medals- U.S.Mint Pewter w/Display Case

This pewter medal is the 2nd out of a series of 10 that the U.S. Mint produced to honor and commemorate the decisive military actions of the Revolutionary War. General Horatio Gates was awarded this original medal, made of silver, after a series of battles which led to the British surrender at Saratoga. This medal comes with it's original display case from the U.S. Mint as well as an insert of literature regarding General Horatio Gates and his service to our country.
