The large line on the reverse between 4:00 and 6:30 is extremely unusual. While it looks like a die break, it is not. After consultations with many numismatic experts, I believe that John Dannreuther has come up with the best explanation. It is a retained struck thru, that is a piece of wire has been struck into the coin. A true coin for the cent or error collector.
In our opinion, this is a high end coin for the grade.
